Why Does Hair Frizz?

Hair frizz is a severe hair-related problem that ruins the beauty of the hair. Hair frizz is prone to occur in wavy and curly hair. It is very difficult for people to deal with their frizzy hair and attain a beautiful hairstyle.

Frizzy hair is difficult to deal with. The hair may become frizzy due to various reasons. Let us here discuss various causes of frizzy hair.

The hair may become frizzy due to excessive use of heat-generating hair styling equipment such as flat iron, blow dryer, and curling iron. The heat that is generated from these types of equipment is very harmful to the hair and makes the hair frizzy. Therefore the use of such pieces of equipment on the hair should be minimized.

Exposure of the hair to the scorching heat of the sun is also very damaging for the hair and makes the hair frizzy. The sun produces ultraviolet rays which are very harmful to the hair and make the hair frizzy. Therefore, you should make sure to wear sunscreen on your hair before going out in the sun, to prevent hair from frizz.

Lack of Moisture

Another reason for dry and frizzy hair is the lack of moisture content in the hair. So, you should make sure to keep your hair well moisturized by massaging the scalp with warm olive oil at least twice a week. This is a very good way to maintain the health and the strength of the hair and helps in replenishing the moisture in the hair.

Lack of hydration also leads to hair frizz. So, drink a lot of water in a day to maintain the hydration level of the hair and guard against hair frizz.

Washing the hair every day also leads to hair dryness and hair frizz. Natural oils from the hair are stripped off due to daily washing of the hair, thus making the hair frizzy and dry.

So, hair washing should be limited to only twice or thrice a week, to retain natural oils in the hair and guard against hair frizz. Also, you should condition your hair every time after washing the hair, to make the hair soft and smooth.
