Propecia Hair Loss

There are many types of scalp hair loss and the most common among them is male pattern hair loss. This may cause hair loss in patches or it may affect large areas or the whole scalp. Male pattern hair loss is a common condition in which men experience thinning of the hair on the scalp. This results in a receding hairline and balding follows soon. This hair loss is called androgenetic alopecia and the male hormones, which are called androgens and genetic factors determine the loss of hair. Propecia hair loss medication is used for treating the male pattern hair loss as propecia prevents the conversion of testosterone to DHT in the body. Propecia hair loss treatment is suitable only for adult men.

Propecia hair loss medication may have side effects like impotence, low libido, and erectile dysfunction. Hair loss stops until you take medicines regularly and once you stop taking medicines, hair fall resumes. It may not be possible to use propecia hair loss medication if you suffer from urinary tract disease, drug allergies, liver disease or prostate cancer. Propecia hair loss medication is not suitable for women or children, as it is known to cause birth defects in an unborn baby if taken by pregnant women.
