Weatherproof Makeup
With monsoons making their comeback this year, your makeup and beauty regime also need a change. While you pull out your umbrella and windcheaters, it is time to shove the existing makeup products and invest in makeup products meant for monsoon. There are few things that you need to bear in mind during monsoon. Firstly, all your makeup products should be water resistant and you you must avoid heavy makeup. By heavy makeup we mean, foundation and concealer.
Here, we share some rainy day tips to get your makeup right.
Tip # 1 - Skip your regular foundation or concealer for a lighter base. A souffle or light foundation will be perfect for monsoon. Alternatively you can use a tinted sunscreen or a tinted moisturiser. This will act as a base for your makeup and will also save your skin from the sun. These days there are many options to choose from. There is one more thing that you can do, use your regular foundation but before you apply the foundation use a water resistant sunscreen.
Tip # 2 – Stay away from matte lipsticks or matte makeup products. They can dry your skin. Our skin needs miniaturization through out the year, however, the level of moisturizing varies. For instance you would need a light moisturiser during summer and a heavy one during winter. Rainy days call for moderate moisturizing needs. Matte makeup is meant for summers when the sweating is high due to humidity. But during monsoon, you can safely use creamy makeup.
Tip # 3 – Ban liquid eyeliners, even if the label reads water proof, do not use liquid eyeliners during monsoon. A better alternative would be kajal or an eye pencil. It will stay longer and won’t run like a liquid eyeliner. The same applies to mascara, use a dry mascara instead of the regular liquid one.
