Undressing to Soothe the Skin
September 2, 2008
It is easy to dress up and put on make-up since the excitement and eagerness to look good and make an impression is common. But once we return from our day out, we often tend to forget, or just avoid removing our make-up properly. Complete and careful removal of make-up is extremely important for the skin, which could otherwise start reacting. Forming a skin-care routine is very vital to ensure its well-being.
HAIR
If you have applied any products in the hair to help give it a better look, make sure you wash your hair well once the event is over. Leaving products in the hair rob it of its texture, and constant exposure to chemicals harm the hair leading to problems like hair fall, breakage and even dandruff. Use conditioner generously to restore the original texture of the hair and make it more manageable.
SKIN
Remove all traces of make-up carefully. At the end of the day, leave your skin the opportunity to be clean and breathe well. Use a good cleansing lotion with soft cotton, make sure all make-up is removed. Use a mild face wash to rejuvenate the skin, and dab some moisturizer once done. It is best to avoid keeping make-up on for long durations since the skin does not have the opportunity to breathe and loses its moisture, appearing dry and scaly later.
EYES
Great care must be taken while removing eye make-up to see that no products enter the eye, and also that the eyes are stripped of all make-up once done. Moisturize well around these areas to avoid the formation of wrinkles. Indulging the eyes with slices of cucumber, potato, and cotton dipped in either cold water or rose water is very relaxing for tired eyes, and reduces the incidence of dark circles. It is a very good stimulant for the tear glands as well.
A little effort and some attention to detail is all it takes to assure you healthy skin. While make-up can help accentuate your look, these small pointers leave your skin looking good longer.
