Types of Hair Loss
Hair is like an ornament of our body, it is like the icing on the cake, when you loose hair you loose not only the strands but also your self confidence and an important component of your body. It can trigger panic within a person if the hair loss is excessive and continuous.
The victim of hair loss often resort to treatments without identifying the cause of the same. Before selecting a hair loss treatment you must realize that all cases of hair loss are not identical. Hair loss can be the outcome of various problems. So it is important that the cause of hair loss be determined before starting a remedial measure for hair loss treatment.
Hair loss is a common problem with women as compared to men, women face more hair loss issues. The causes of hair loss in woman are many, we can broadly classify them as genetic and non genetic. The most common type of balding observed in women is androgenetic alopecia. To diagnose hair loss type one can conduct a simple test at home.
Gently pull a fingerling of hair and count the hair that are easily pulled out. Additionally you can check the density of hair by taking a section of hair and examine with a magnifying glass. The hair density can then be measured and the approximate percentage of hairs that are in a miniaturized state can be analysed. The other causes of hair loss in woman are menopause, thyroids and iron deficiency caused due to menstruation.
It is thus important to identify the cause of hair loss by analysing all the reasons to ensure that the cure is accurate. We often jump from one treatment to another and end up getting lured by over the counter expensive products which may not cure the problem permanently.
