Tips for the Perfect Hairstyle
September 8, 2008
No hairstyle is ever perfect. Neither is any one type of hair. You may feel like your hair is the worst kind ever. It just doesn’t stay in place, takes hours of agonizing over to style, and just does not look good even after. The easiest thing to do is run to your stylist for help. Then comes a happy phase where you love your look, but the good times are shortlived. You go back to sulking over your hair all over. The sum and substance is that nothing is ever good enough.
Here are some simple rules of thumb to follow before you try to do something drastic to your hair:
LOOK FOR THE GOOD THINGS
Just like no hair is perfect, no hair is devoid of its merits either. Look for aspects of your hair that help it stand out. This could be the length, colour, texture or even its bounce. Try and work on these positives and you will see that you are making yourself feel much better at the end of the exercise.
LIVE FOR YOURSELF
You will never find a whole population that will adore you. Good and bad comments will be made on your hair. Come to peace with the fact that you are completely satisfied with the look that you have achieved. You will see that other’s opinions don’t matter so much after all.
RETAIN YOUR OWN INDIVIDUALITY
Just because a particular style is specially hot during a particular season, don’t bend backwards to get it. The result on your hair just might be a total disaster. Go instead with getting something that suits your hair better. So what if it’s a style that’s not the trendiest? It might look a lot better.
BE REALISTIC
Accept your hair the way it is. If you want to achieve a certain look like someone else has, make sure you have studied your hair well enough to know that your hair is suitable for the particular style.
HAVE A GOOD TIME
After all, every day can’t be just perfect. If your hair just won’t settle and take orders from you, let it go. Be comfortable, listen to your hair for a change, and you will see the world is a much better place.
