Thin Hair

Women who have very thin hair can breathe a sigh off relief for we share some tips to get a healthy mane that looks thicker. Let us first understand the reason for thin hair, most of the times it is hereditary and there isn’t much you can do about it but the other causes of thin hair could be improper nutrition, stress, illness or chemical exposure. Certain thumb rules for healthy hair and body are useful for thin hair irrespective of the cause of it. Styling thin hair can be a major challenge specially for women. Few styles that would suit thin hair would be bangs, soft curls and hair tucked behind the ears.

It is advisable to keep the length short instead of long flowing tresses, long hair will look more thinner. Short or medium length hairstyles are perfect for thin hair, hair that ends at the chin is also a good option.

1) Diet - A diet rich in proteins and Vitamins is mandatory for healthy hair growth. Since our hair is made up of dead protein i.e Keratin a diet which is rich in protein is helpful. Also nourishing your hair externally with egg (protein) is also good and gives an excellent sheen and bounce to hair. Vitamins are not produced in our body hence they need to be consumed, the entire family of Vitamin B is known for it’s benefits in hair growth.

2) Haircut – These days there are many haircuts available for covering thin areas of scalp, usually layered cut adds volume. Whether you go for a regular haircut or no, it is important to trim your hair every month, this will keep your hair healthy and promote hair growth.

3) Highlighting - Colouring your hair can make a huge difference in the appearance of your hair, use a combination of colours to create an illusion of thick hair. We suggest you visit a professional stylist who will be able to guide you about the choice of colours, do not go for contrasting colours. But highlighting does help specially when you use 2 colour shades.
