Thick Bulky Hair

If you are amongst those who have lots of hair on your head then this article is meant for you. We share some tips for dealing with bulky hair that is difficult to manage. Thick hair is usually coarse and tends to becomes dry and brittle, therefore the first and the most important thing is to condition the hair thoroughly. Deep conditioning treatments are essential at least once in a week to keep the hair soft and manageable. Apart from that having a right hair style is also important, if your haircut doesn’t suit your hair type you need an urgent makeover.

Hairstyle should blend well with the hair type, the facial structure and your lifestyle. So keep these factors in your mind before you go under the knife. When the hair is bulky, deciding the length becomes very crucial. Too short a length will make your head look wide and huge and too long will again look unappealing. The best hair length would be medium or at least below the collar bone.

Bulky hair usually has excess body and weight, so you need to add structure to the hair by cutting the volume. Try to cut down as much volume as you can around the crown, add fringes, bangs to reduce the body around crown. Next is to cut down the volume from the back of the head, but try to create a softer look while doing this.

If you think of highlighting thick hair then go for global highlights instead of streaks. Global colouring will tone down the volume whereas streasking will create an illusion of more hair. Also use dark colours since they have a slimming effect. Instead of opting for blonde, gold or light brown shades, go for dark brown, burgundy and deep magenta shades. Choose the right colour and style for locks.
