The Link Between Hair Loss and Stress
If your hairline is receding or your hair is thinning, you surely would like to know the reason for it. Well, hair loss is linked with many factors; it can be hereditary, hormone related, ailment related, stress related hair loss, at times due to ageing and sometimes it is absolutely natural. Hair has a lifespan of almost 4 years and then it sheds itself, a new hair is generated from the same hair follicle. But if your hair is falling faster than its normal lifespan then it can be alarming. Hair loss these days is associated with stress, the hectic lifestyle with demanding jobs leave people stressed and anxious.
There is always a back log of unattended emotions, stress and anxiety levels are always high amongst the urbanites. Not only mental stress but even physical stress can cause hair loss.
Stress causes loss of appetite, sleeplessness, irritation, modd swings and so on. It also affects the metabolism rate of a person and slowly the immunity levels drop down. Once this occurs the individual feels lethargic and weak, hair too has to suffers from malnutrition and falls off.
The body is in no position to provide nourishment to the hair and scalp as a result hair becomes weak and starts shedding. It is therefore very important to control stress, though it is not easy to get over stress but an effort needs to be made. The first thing one should do when stressed is to get into some physical activity like sports or exercise.
Phyiscal activities will elevate the mood and release feel good hormones. Another way to de-stress is to practice Yoga and meditation, it will help in inculcating positive thinking. Stress cannot be treated with medicines, it is a state of mind and you are the one who can control it. So de-stress yourself, indulge in your hobbies and eat well and you will see the difference.
