The Art of Makeup

Make up is an art and can transform you from a girl next door to a diva if worn properly. Never trust the local beauty parlors for makeup, instead of transforming your look you will fail to recognize yourself in the mirror. They make you like a clay doll, makeup should look natural. It should not loos as if you are wearing a mask it should make your skin look naturally flawless.

And only a makeup artist can do justice, not a down market beauty parlour person who is not even trained. Not just that, the products these cheap parlours use are horrible, you would have never ever heard the name of the brand. If you were to talk to them about any famous brand it will sound like an alien to them, well this is the best way to test the credentials of these so called beauty parlours.

While wearing your foundation use a yellow toned one because most of the Asian skin has a yellow undertone. A pink or orange under toned foundation will give a very artificial look. Apply eye shadow on the in 3 shades, use mascara and liner to define the eyes but that doesn’t ,mean you use all 3. It is important to keep in mind the shape and size of the eyes, the occasion and the outfit.

Next is application of bronzer, use a shade or two darker than your complexion and avoid orange undertones, use gold tones. Use powder based bronzer on oily skin and liquid based on dry skin. Lipstick should be worn with liner but the liner should be of the same shade, never use a liner which is a shade darker than the lipstick.

The shade of your lipstick should blend with the colour of your outfit; it should not stand out awkwardly. Avoid wearing a lipstick of the exact shade of your outfit, it will look tacky. Also avoid wearing extremely contrasting colours like brown lipstick with pink outfit or wine/ mauve coloured lipstick with a brown outfit. Instead stick to lighter shades during the day and keep the darker ones for evenings.
