Textured Hair

Adding texture to your fine hair will give you an edge, it is a welcome change from the regular poker straight hair. When you add texture to your hair, you can play up either bold or subtle looks with a little twisting and turning. To get a bold messed up look, mist some protective spray on hair before you use the iron. Take sections of hair and wrap it around the iron from mid- length to the ends, create a flick or a kink.

Do not brush, just ruffle your hair with fingers dipped in hair serum or hair wax. Hair wax will also add shine to your unkempt locks. For a subtle look, mist your hair with some spray to protect it from the heated instrument. Now take sections of hair and wrap it once around the iron, pull each section forward in different directions to get a bold funky look.

Texture can also be added without any instrument with simple plaits. The trick is to wet your hair and plait them into thin tight plaits. Undo the plaits when hair dries, it creates beautiful crimps which also add volume to hair. If you do not wish to create too much volume then tie thicker plaits instead of thin ones. Alternatively, plait alternate sections of hair for a mesmerising texture.

Add variation to your flicks by ironing them right from the roots. Hold a chunk of your flicks from the roots and glide the iron through it, turning it up and outwards when you reach the ends. This style will give your flicks a new life, if required mist some hair spray for long stay. Create a kinky style by ironing your hair from midlength, turn the iron forward in different directions to create straight ends that don’t curl inside.
