Take Care of Your Hairbrush

Hairbrush – available in different shapes, sizes, textures and bristles is vital for the health of your hair. Remember the old saying ” Brush your hair a hundred times to make your locks beautiful”. Well, it may sound wierd but brushing your hair before going to bed is good for your hair. But what if your brush is not maintained in good condition, not that you dont want to maintain but you simply don’t know what should be done to keep it clean.

To start with, loosen strands from the the hairbrush, you can use a clean toothbrush to lift the strands away from the brush pad. If there is dust on the brush pad then scrub it to remove the dust and shake your brush to free of it. When washing your brush make a lather of lukewarm water with soap or a mild shampoo. Don’t use detergent for cleaning. Dip the brush in soapy water and hold it sloping downwards. Shake the brush to remove the moisture and leave it to dry with the pad facing down. Though cleaning is one part of hair brush but the way you use your brush for styling is also important. A hairbrush worth thousands is no good if you are not using it correctly.

There is a technique, which you need to incorporate in your daily life. No matter how much hurry you are in never brush tangled hair, use a wide toothes comb to de- tangle your hair and then use the brush. You can enhance the shine and softness by brushing your hair from the roots for doing this bend from waist and brush your hair. Brush your hair before you shower and before hitting the bed. You don’t really need to brush your hair hundred times but 10 – 15 minutes of brushing before going to bed is good enough.
