Stress Caused by Hair Fall
All over the internet, you will find articles on how stress can cause hair fall. However, it is a two way stream. In most cases, there are tremendous efforts taken to win the battle against hair fall, in a lot of cases, the battle is lost, slowly but surely.
This can lead to tremendous turmoil in the mind. More than anything, it’s a bad way to start the morning to look in the mirror and see bald patches starting to appear or grow.
It also can affect the idea of how one looks at the self. If one is a high flying, confident person then this dents the idea that we are infallible. If we have esteem issues to start off with, this can totally demoralize and even break us.
The question then, is how do we deal with it. We try, without fail, every possible way to prevent hair fall, to slow down the process, if not finish it. However, through experience, I feel that the best way to conquer the stress is to accept the fact the hair we have might not be there tomorrow.
Some scriptures tell us the body is just a vessel we must not get too attached to. Our hair, the dead cells on top of our head, should be the least of out attachment.
Furthermore, it’s a common problem these days. You will find tons of people in different stages of hair fall everywhere you go. It is also a group that seems to be growing younger in average age.
Hair fall will not bother the opposite sex if you don’t let it bother yourself. If you can’t get over the feeling that it is diminishing your appeal, compensate in another way. Work out, get facials, nicer cloths. Choose your battles.
Stress and hair fall can form a vicious cycle where they feed each other. Your first aim should be to break the cycle. Joke about it to yourself. Appreciate what you have left, hope the new treatment works but don’t get obsessed about it. Science is a wonderful thing; if we can put men on the moon we can get hair back. Wait for it but remember to not use anything that damages your body.
In the meantime, take a deep breath, love yourself and don’t let hair or the lack of it define who you are as a person.
