Stlyling a Man’s Hair
September 2, 2008
Hairstyling for men has caught on like a rage. Men are increasingly aware, conscious and careful about their hair. They are now constantly experimenting with their look using different hairstyles. Gone are the days when the man spotted one look starting in his youth and carried the same style till old age. The new age man can never have enough.
More effort has also been made at studying male hair types and textures to cater to their needs. There are specialized salons that offer different looks using different hairstyles matched with coloured accentuations to conjure magical results.
Among the youth the fashion of long hair is really popular. This allows them the option of leaving it plain during the day, and experimenting with their looks for evenings and parties. The use of gels and mousses help put together a variety of looks like the casual fringe, the spiked look, the rebellious gangster look and even the retro afro sometimes. Soft highlights, stark colours and bold tints can all be experimented with to produce an array of looks that can dress almost any occasion.
At a slightly different stage, once men enter the corporate world, the choices become a little more limited. Being more conservative becomes essential. Long locks give way to shorter, neater styles and colouring and highlighting have to be foregone. There are still options to choose from and striking, chic looks can still be obtained even within the constraints. The salt-and-pepper look, with touches of grey add distinguished character to the personality. This complements success and experience beautifully, and is a popular choice among senior professionals.
Even the simplest hairstyle can make a lasting impact. You don’t need to be outrageous to get noticed a discerning eye and good taste are enough to make a good looking face even better.
