Step By Step Makeup Guide
Makeup is an art and to get it right it is important that your makeup artist doesn’t rush through it. Go slow when applying makeup, when you work slowly you can evaluate each step and do the corrections right away instead of ending up with an overdone look. The first step to makeup application is to moisturize your skin and your lips. Next is to decide the colour of your foundation, it should match perfectly with your complexion. The true colour of the foundation can be checked when it is blended on the skin hence it is important to do a patch test for the colour.
Apply the foundation in dots all over the face and blend it with a wet sponge, spread it evenly. If required you can use concealer around the eyes for covering dark circles, concealer application should be followed by foundation. Use a translucent powder with a big round brush – dome shaped and apply it on the entire face, this will add shine and soak up any traces of oil.
Next is to work on the eyes, but before you start the tedious and time consuming eye makeup, apply an extra coat of white powder under the eyes to catch any eyemakeup that might fall out while applications. For example if you are using a dry eyeshadow then chances are it may fall on your lower lids.
For eye makeup, cover the entire upper eyelid with foundation as a base. Now highlight the brow bone with light shimmer like silver or gold. Colour the eyelid completely with a very deep shade like purple. Use the lightest version of the same colour on the top half of the upper eyelid. Apply a darker shade of the same colour on the lower part of the upper eyelid.
This colour must be darker than the top half but lighter than the base colour. Using the same colour, apply from the middle to the outer corner going up all the way to the tip of the eyebrow. Outline the eyes on top with an eyeliner and add loads of mascara to upper and lower lashes. Keep the lips pale with a light or nude lipstick shade, pastels will do. Apply foundation on the lips for the lipstick to stay longer. Always use a lipstick and a lip liner of the same shade, your liner should never be darker.
