Split Ends
One of the most dreadful hair scare is Split ends, they are so stubborn that once you have them they will never go. Infact there is no solution for split ends apart from trimming, no amount of hair products or creams will help in this condition, the only thing you can do to save your hair is keep cutting the ends every 4-5 weeks depending on the rate of hair growth.
Cut atleast 1 inch of your hair since if you cut less than that it will be of no good. Do not commit the mistake of avoiding split ends since it will grow up to the shaft of the hair from the roots. Dry hair is more prone to split ends and as a remedy you can use intensive conditioning to nourish your hair, though is not a permanent solution. Not just dry hair but dry scalp can also cause split ends since the hair follicle is not lubricated. Infact a dry scalp can also cause dandruff, it is advisable to keep your hair and scalp nourished.
The causes of split ends is not very clear but over brushing your hair and combing in opposite direction causes split ends. The use of electric instruments like hair dryer, hot iron, crimping machine etc also causes dryness which leads to split ends. Even if you use a hair dryer keep it atleast 6-8 inches away from your hair and do not use it at the highest possible temperature. Perming and curling products or colouring and highlighting creams also weaken the hair shaft and the hair is easily fractured. This delicate hair becomes prone to split ends. Use of hair accessories that are roughly handled can break the ends of the hair and cause them to split, do not use elastic bands they are the main culprit instead use a clip.
