Special Monsoon Hair Care Tips

Its raining showers everywhere, monsoon is a time when you need extra care for hair and have to alter your hair care regime. The wetness and moisture in the air can make your tresses limp and lifeless. This is that time of the year when your metabolism is sluggish and so is the growth rate of your hair.

So, if you have been thinking of growing your hair, this is not a good time. The best time to grow hair faster and longer is in summer. Coming back to the monsoon mania, this season calls for a squeaky clean scalp to keep hair and scalp infections at bay.

Fungal and bacterial infection is not uncommon during this season. You can improve the health of your hair by taking care of your diet. Remember the adage – “Whatever goes in, comes out”. It is applicable even here, whatever you eat will have an effect on the health of your hair. So eat healthy and avoid junk food, excess sugar, foods high in trans fat etc.

These unhealthy things are not only bad for your over all health but also damage your hair. They snap away life from your hair. Switch over to fruits and vegetables, avoid beverages like colas, aerated drinks and alcohol. It is advisable to quit smoking since it can clog hair growth.

There are few more things that you can do during monsoon.

1) Use a hair dryer, but on cool mode to dry your hair. It is important to keep your hair dry during this season since dampness is the major cause of hair problems. It leads to dandruff, hair loss and infections. Keeping the hair dry is very essential but it is important to stay away from heated instruments since they can further the damage.

2) Wash your hair everyday or every alternate day during this season. It will ensure that your hair remains clean and there are no deposits whatsoever. Product build up is also another cause of hair problems, by washing your hair everyday you will manage to keep your hair healthy. Keep these simple tips in mind during monsoon.
