Skin Care in Winters

With the change in season, the texture and tone of the skin also changes. As winter approaches, the skin becomes rough, flaky and dry. It is very important for an individual to take extra care of the skin in winters, so that the skin remains well moisturized.

Let us here discuss about some of the tips of taking care of the skin in winters, which would help in attaining soft and supple skin.

The most important thing that a person must take care in winters is to take proper diet, enriched with fresh fruits and vegetables. Green vegetables should be definitely included in the diet.

In winters, people consume less amount of water, as they do not feel much thirsty. Lack of water in the body may result in lack of hydration. Therefore, it is very important for an individual to drink at least two liters of water in winters, so that the skin and the body remain hydrated.

People should make use of good quality moisturizer on the skin, which is enriched with Vitamin E, so that the moisture is locked in the skin for a long period of time.

Whenever an individual goes out of the house in winters, it is recommended to wear full sleeved sweater, so that the skin is protected from the cold and harsh wind of the winters.

The process of exfoliating the skin is very important in winters. People should clean, tone and moisturize the skin on daily basis, so as to retain the health of the skin in winters.

Sunscreen lotion should be worn in winters also, as the harmful rays of the sun may damage the skin in winters too and may result in dryness of the skin.

Applying lukewarm olive oil or coconut oil on the skin before going for a bath would help in moisturizing the skin in a great way.

Extremely hot shower bath should be avoided; instead an individual should take bath with lukewarm water. Extremely hot water bath may make the skin dry.

Make use of moisturizing bathing lotions in winters, instead of soaps. Lotions enriched with olive oil or glycerin should be used.
