Pomegranates, the ruby red eye catching food comes from the ancient land of Persia. It has been native to the regions between Iran and Himalayas. However, now it is available around the world and is in season from September to May. The fruit has a thick skin and tiny red juicy seeds. Pomegranate seeds are crushed and made into juice, which is very popular in the cuisine of the middle East and India. Pomegranate has loads off skin benefits both when applied externally or taken internally. Pomegranate is a powerhouse of nutrients and energy. It is loaded with essential amino acids, Vitamins B and C and other antioxidants.

The fruits supports a healthy immune system and sustains normal blood pressure levels. It contains thrice the amount of antioxidants as compared to wine or green tea. These antioxidants are known to be good for skin. The wholesome pomegranate promotes regeneration of skin cells. Extracts of pomegranate prolong the life of cells and thereby help repair and restore our skin’s ability to heal faster and work towards reversing the signs of ageing.

Pomegranate juice is the most inexpensive juice so splurge on it everyday. It has many health benefits and also helps in promoting a healthy heart. The fruit is also rich in Potassium, Vitamin C, Niacin, Fibre. Apart from having anti-ageing and disease fighting abilities pomegranate can also decrease wrinkles. Eat a bowl of pomegranate everyday for a healthy, young looking skin.

You can even use pomegranate juice directly on your cheeks as a natural blusher. Pomegranate is used in many cosmetic products these days for the plethora of benefits it offers. Indulge in some natural skin care with pomegranates, apply the juice all over the face and leave it for half an hour, rinse off with plain water. It will give you a beautiful rosy glow.
