Shampoos For Varying Textures Of Hair
Choosing the right shampoo seems worrisome? There are basically various types of shampoos varying from normal to dry to oily hair. You must choose the one which suits your hair best. We help you make the right choice!
Shampoos for normal hair:
These are gentle shampoos usually herbal in nature. These do not strip your hair off the natural sebum and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals.
Shampoos for oily hair:
These contain cleansers which emulsify the oil and leaves the scalp clean. If you have oily hair, these shampoos are the best choice. Avoid using conditioner as it will retain moisture and make the scalp oily again.
Thickening shampoo for thin hair:
These conditioners contain glycerin which helps the hair to swell up retaining water. The cuticle opens up and swells the hair shaft making it look voluminous. But these types of conditioners leave the hair vulnerable, so make sure to use a good conditioner after shampooing.
Dandruff shampoos:
These shampoos are used to reduce dandruff. It also helps to reduce the itching and flaking that occurs due to dandruff. These can even be used in case of excessively dried scalp.
Clarifying shampoos:
These are high on acid content and help to remove excessive chemicals that remain as residue on hair. A clarifying shampoo is best for swimmers as it helps to remove the chemicals from the hair that exposure to water results in. But they should not be used much because of the high acid content.
Application:
Shampoos should be used everyday. Take a little bit on your palm and apply evenly on the scalp. Remember, shampoo should be applied on the scalp and not on individual hair strand. Rub it thoroughly and rinse off with lukewarm water. Avoid using blow dryers after shampooing. Blow dryers cause heating of the hair and damage it.
