Seasonal Hair Loss
Hair fall is said to be varying according to seasons, you would have noticed that sometime no matter how much you care for your hair it falls. It becomes difficult to arrest hairfall at certain times of the year because of the climatic conditions. No amount of hair care and pampering can save your tresses from shedding. Though such seasonal hair loss is normal but if the loss is too much then it calls for some serious hair care. We share with you the seasons of the year and the impact of the weather on the health of our hair.
Summer - Summer season is high in humidity and causes excessive sweating. The heat can actually damage your hair badly like your skin, so try to save your tresses from exposure to sun. Wear a scarf or cap to protect your hair. Since hair loss during summer is due to the heat of sun and also due to dirt/grime you can control these factors.
For saving yourself from the heat, stay indoors and use head covering when outside, similarly to prevent sweating and accumulation of dirt in your scalp keep your hair clean. Wash hair regularly during summer to keep it squeaky clean. One good thing about this season is that your hair will grow faster during summer than any other season.
Winter - The way winter slows down metabolism in our body, it also retards the growth of hair. Unlike summer, hair will not grow faster during winter, plus the hair can get extremely dry and brittle due to the cold dry winds and thus break. Hair fall during winter is more due to dryness, so if you condition your hair regularly you can prevent hairfall due to breakage. Also your hair needs some massaging to stimulate the follicles, use aromatherapy massage oils, they offer a variety of benefits.
Monsoon - The elements of monsoon can cause damage to your scalp and hair and thus lead to hair fall. The most common problem during monsoon is the exposure to rain water followed by warm indoors which can cause bacterial and fungal infection in the scalp.
You need to keep your scalp clean and your hair dry as much as possible to avoid hair problems. Moreover monsoon is the time when any wounds or skin diseases take longer to cure so keep your scalp clean to avoid any diseases.
