Among many kinds of skin related problems, scaly skin is one of them. The skin may get scaly due to various reasons such as dry air, lack of moisture in the skin, or severe health conditions. Scaly skin can spoil the entire beauty of the face and may take away the shine from the face.
Scaly skin is one of the great problems in winters. In winters, the humidity level goes down, thus leading to dry air and hence dry and scaly skin. Time spent in shower should be reduced. Warm water shower is preferred as against hot shower. Excessive hot water may take away the natural oils and the moisture from the skin, thus causing scales on the skin.
Exfoliating the skin is a very good way of dealing with scaly skin. This would help in penetrating the moisturizer in the skin in a very easy manner. Exfoliating the skin includes cleansing, toning and moisturizing the skin.
A mild liquid cleanser should be used for cleaning the skin in spite of harsh soap.
The skin should be moisturized daily, to deal with scaly and dry skin.
A healthy diet should be eaten to fight with scaly skin. An individual should include fresh fruits and fresh vegetables in the diet so that the texture and tone of the skin are improved. Fish, milk and nuts should be definitely included in the diet.
The skin may get scaly at times due to the use of certain cosmetic items. In such a case, it is recommended to stop the use of such products that cause allergic reactions, and take the advice of the doctor as to what treatment should be followed.
