Scalp itching
Itching in the scalp may really irritate an individual to a great extent. In case of scalp itching, the skin grows rapidly than the normal pace, due to skin conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis. Due to overgrowth of skin, there is overgrowth of organisms which trigger the problem of scalp itching. An individual feels like scratching his head every time due to itching in the scalp. Scalp itching may also occur due to the presence of head lice in the scalp. Also, if an individual does not take care of the hair in a proper manner, itching may occur in the scalp.

Remedies for scalp itching
In order to wash the hair, soap cakes should never be used on the scalp. Soap cakes are very harsh on the hair of an individual and strips off the natural oils from the scalp, thus resulting in dry and brittle hair, hence leading to scalp itching.
While washing the hair, make sure to choose the right kind of shampoo for your hair type. A shampoo with pH level of at least 4 should be chosen to clean the hair.
Antihistamines should be used for providing relief to the itching scalp on temporary basis. Antihistamines are enriched with anti itching ingredients and help in dealing with itching scalp.
Another great remedy for itching scalp is olive oil. Olive oil helps in soothing the scalp in a great way. The itching and dryness from the scalp go away with the help of hot olive oil massage. Subsequent to massaging the scalp with hot olive oil, the hair are washed off after around half an hour.
Use of chemical treatments on the scalp, such as hair perming and hair coloring should be avoided altogether.
If an individual does not get enough relief in the scalp after following the above said remedies, then he should go to the dermatologist to seek medical advice for scalp itching.
