Retro styles not only look glamorous but are very classic and sexy. They represent individuality and look very stylish and polished. Retro hairstyles were famous for their elegance, the hairdo was not free flowing type, it was unique and an exquisite. No wonder, they are still a rage with many red carpet celebrities sporting these hairstyles with vintage gowns.

Today, we shall discuss about one such retro style – Chignon. This hairdo is perfect for parties, weddings and prom nights. The first important thing to know before you style your chignon is to keep it low. It should never be worn high and it is quite simple to wear, almost like a bun.

For the classic chignon hairstyle tie your hair in to a low pony tail. Now divide the pony in 2 sections. Lightly tease the split section of your hair with the back of your comb or finger. Now secure the other end with bob pins. Repeat this step for the other split section of the pony tail.

This is one of the most simple retro style. Embellish it with accessories like stones, crystals, beads etc. Before you start with the hairstyle ensure that your hair is conditioned and brush it with a paddle brush to straighten any unruly hair.
