Removing Skin Tags
What are skin tags? Skin tags are basically growths in the skin which cause irritation on the skin. Skin tags can occur on any body part. In most of the cases, skin tags are found in the body’s crease areas such as neck, groin and armpits. Skin tags don’t change or grow. The size of skin tags is around 1mm. Also, skin tags are not painful. The major reason behind the formation of skin tags is the friction. Friction is caused in the skin due to creases in the skin, folds in the skin and rubbing of skin to skin. Going to dermatologist for removal of skin tags can be very expensive.
An individual can remove the skin tags at home on his own by carrying out certain measures in a safe manner.
A string is taken and tied on the skin’s base for a few days, unless it falls off on its own. Blood flow gets stopped by way of tying of the string, thus causing skin tag to dry and fall.
Application of nail polish on skin tag three times in a day is also a good way of getting rid of skin tag. After the nail polish dries, the skin gets contracted, thus letting the skin tag to disappear.
Castor oil and baking soda are mixed together to form a paste. It is then applied on skin tag thrice a day. Skin tag would dry and fall off as a result of this treatment.
Duct tape can also be used to remove skin tag. Duct tape is applied for a few days on the area of skin tag. The tag starts loosening up with time and finally falls off.
A band aid is taken and vitamin E is applied on it. The band aid is then stuck on skin tag. After some days, one would see the tag shedding off from the skin.
Some cotton is taken and soaked in vinegar. It is then applied on skin tag for around four to five times in a day. One would see the skin tag falling down in a few days. Application of this treatment should not be done on the skin tags located near the eyes.
