Preventions Against Cosmetic Allergies
We use so many cosmetic products on our skin each day containing various chemicals. This result is cosmetic allergy. Cosmetic allergies are reactions that a body’s protective immune system throws out. This can be treated by a good dermatologist but we have some cues and tips to ensure better prevention and cure as well.
Symptoms:
If a harmful chemical comes in contact with the skin, the skin might break down. This will cause irritation, redness and itching in that particular area of the skin. Contact dermatitis occurs in places like eyelids and nose. The skin becomes raw and irruptions can occur all over the body such as neck, eyes, ears, etc.
Prevention is better than cure:
Always read the composition of the product you buy. Some chemicals can cause reaction.
Make sure to do a “patch test” of every product you buy for the first time. See for 24 hours. If irritation occurs, do not buy that product.
Buy products which have simple ingredients. The more ingredients a product has, the more difficult to trace the antibody.
Ensure hygiene. Make sure to wash your hands before you apply anything on the skin.
Makeup stays long on the skin. So be very alert while choosing the right choice of makeup products. Opt for makeup which is anti-ache and hydrated.
If you wear contact lenses, make sure to apply make-up after inserting the contact lens. Never share your lenses with anyone.
Cosmetic containers should be kept in a safe, cool, dirt-free place and in a tight container. Regularly clean makeup brushes and applicators.
Never apply makeup near the inner corners of the eye or sensitive areas. They are more prone to graduate a cosmetic allergy.
We hope that, with these tips, you will make sure to keep your skin allergy-free and safe. Always remember, prevention is better than cure!
