Prevent Heat Damage
Heat damage is the worst type of damage that can affect the health of your hair. To prevent hair damage you must be careful with the use of heated instruments like flat iron, hair dryers, rollers and so on. The first step to good hair habits is to treat your tresses gently. Comb out the knots and tangles very gently. Spend some more time in removing the knots, do not be in a hurry. Do not use harsh strokes while combing, use a light hand and start working from the bottom, i.e. from the ends to the roots. Before you remove knots, apply some hair serum on damp hair.
However, if you haven’t washed your hair then just rub some serum on the comb before running it through the hair. Next is to use some heat protecting spray before using the flat iron. Do not use the iron at its maximum temperature, it will damage the hair. Keep the level such that your hair is straightened but there is less damage. The type of iron you use also plays a very important role.
A good iron is one that has a ceramic plate and active ions technology. The effect of using this iron is much better. It won’t make your hair frizzy, in fact it will make them soft because the heat that passes through the ceramic plate converts the heat into moisture. Moreover, the volts should also be around 220 V. Anything less than that will make your hair dry and rough.
Another thing to bear in mind is to use the right heat protecting products after the job is done. Avoid touching your hair frequently, it will make the hair limp and greasy. Never use a flat iron on wet or damp hair, it should be used on dry hair. You can add shine to your hair by spritzing some shine spray.
Every time you iron your hair, it is good to nourish it with some hair pack. This will reduce heat damage and will pamper your hair. You could use some curd or egg or maybe honey for your hair. Honey can be mixed with water and use it as hair rinser. Egg and curd can be applied separately or together to make a healthy hair pack.
