We all really want to pamper our skin. Most often our hectic schedule does not allow us to take that little time out and head for the spa. And we are left ignoring our skin that is screaming out for help.

With the help of some basic ingredients and a little time, we can obtain the same, striking results of a beautiful face pack at home.

Face packs help tone and tighten the skin. They moisturize and hydrate the skin from within, and the materials used in the pack help correct any problems as they are absorbed into the skin. Here are some of the easiest packs to make at home. They are really effective.

- mix some curd and the yolk of one egg. Apply on the face and massage well using circular movements upwards. Once done, wipe it off using soft cotton. Take a mixture of soaked rice ground coarsely, oats, broken wheat and peanut powder. Apply this pack to the face for about fifteen to twenty minutes. The coarse texture of most of the ingredients mentioned in this pack help exfoliate dry skin and keep the skin looking younger.

- Another simple pack that is good for normal skin is made from chic pea flour, sandalwood powder, cream and lemon juice. Mix the ingredients well and use the pack as you would any regular one. Clean the pack off with cold water and finish it off with one rinse with rose water. The lemon juice helps bleach the face and make it fairer, while the sandalwood powder and chic pea flour help keep the skin glowing.

- Skin that is pimple and acne prone can use a pack made with neem and chic pea flour. The medicinal properties of the neem help improve skin conditions.

- Mud packs are ideal for all skin types. They can be used regularly. Depending on the skin type, mud packs can be made using rose water, lime, or the extracts of fruit and vegetable juices.
