Oily Hair Remedies
Oily or Greasy hair looks lank and oily and needs frequent washing. Oily hair can be due to a hormonal imbalance; a diet too hygiene fatty foods; washing too often; or sometimes because the scalp has larger oil glands than normal.
Increase your shampoo frequency.
Although you may want to get by with washing your hair every few days, this doesn’t work well for oily hair treatment. Most people with oily hair will benefit from a daily shampoo. This helps to prevent buildup of sebum which can weigh down your hair and give it that greasy look.
Choose the right shampoo.
If you want to treat oily hair, you need a shampoo that deep cleans to remove the excess sebum that’s weighing your hair down. Look for a shampoo designed specifically for oily hair. It might be best to avoid cheap shampoos since they are often high in detergent content which can strip the ends of moisture. Even people with oily hair tend to have dry ends.
Frequent Washing
One cure for oily hair is frequent washing, provided you are using the right shampoo. Also, leave the shampoo touching your scalp for around five minutes. This is one of the common causes of oily hair-not leaving the shampoo on long enough. You can wash your hair every single day and not damage it when you are dealing with oily hair.
Mint leaves
Boil two handful of mint leaves in one and a half glass of water for 20 minutes. Strain the solution and mix in a 300ml bottle of shampoo.
Massage
Massaging your scalp can help exfoliate skin and remove all oily residue. Mix 1 tablespoon of Malt Vinegar in a glass of water, add a pinch of salt. Use 2 tablespoons of it on your scalp and massage it with your finger tips twice a week. Leave it on for one hour.
Do not use too many styling products. They are likely to pull the hair down and make it more wilted. Instead, use only one or none of them
Air-drying your hair is one option you can give a thought about. It won?t give generate much heat that will make your sweat and oil glands (sebaceous glands) more active.
For the time being, applying some regular talcum powder on your scalp will give you some relief. Do it only when the hair is really dry and make sure you wash it out. Until the day they find the product which takes care of all this problems, this may be your best choice for greasy hair problem.
Go Light on the Conditioner
Oily hair generally needs conditioning only on the ends. Choose a conditioner designed for oily hair and avoid applying it near the roots of your hair.

Certain herbs when added to shampoos can help to treat oily hair. These include rosemary, eucalyptus, and sage. These herbs act to reduce sebum buildup and promote body.
Keep oily hair clean. That means shampooing every day at least once. Use a good cleansing shampoo on oily hair. A mild finishing rinse made for oily hair will help with combing. Give attention to the roots. It is your scalp that is oily, not your hair. Rinsing out the suds will be enough to clean your hair. After shampooing, apply a light conditioner from mid shaft to the ends. Oily hair is typically fine hair; therefore, avoid silicone, heavy pomades and creams as well as the masks and the serums. Use an airy, volumizing mousse, applying it at the hair roots to create volume.
