If you find a man spending hours before the mirror trying to get his look right, don’t pinch yourself. The obsession with looking and feeling good is not confined to women alone anymore. Men are now experimenting with their looks and hair, and want to achieve different effects all the time. Using simple products like oil and gel can help toss up different style with ease.
The use of oil to set the hair benefits two-fold. Not only are you providing vital nourishment to your hair, but also keeping it in check. Remember though, that just a couple of drops spread over the palms and run through the hair is good enough. The use of excess oil in the hair causes it to run onto the face with the passage of time, causing the face to become oily and sticky. If you look to be spending time traveling in contact with direct sunlight, avoid using oil as the head tends to get heated faster.
A useful substitute in such instances is the use of gel. Running fingers doused with gel through the hair helps produce the same effect as oil without the fear of the oil spreading.
There is a whole range of looks that can be obtained with the use of a little oil or gel.
During the day, to work, simple styles can be adhered to using the gel as a lubricant to merely keep the hair in place at all times. For other occasions, the hair can be gelled and pulled back to give a mafia look. Longer hair can be gelled to the sides to keep it neatly in place. While partying, you could experiment by gelling the hair to form spikes if you are the adventurous type. Or you could give short hair an unkept, ruffled look by messing the hair up. More simply, you could opt to oil or gel the hair just to give it more shine.
It doesn’t take much to style a man’s hair. Two drops of oil are enough to set you for your day ahead.
