Monsoon Hair Care
Though the air is not dry during monsoon but your hair will still look dull, limp and lifeless. The moisture in the air does not mean that it will translate into your hair. Infact the extra moisture in the air makes your hair flat and its texture dull, the result is limp and lifeless hair. Monsoon causes stickiness, greasiness and dandruff in the hair. Additionally the water we use everyday is highly chlorinated during this season to avoid water borne diseases but your hair has to face the wrath of chlorinated water. But fret not, there are ways to deal with these problems.
1) Use a mild shampoo, keep your hair clean, wash it regularly and don’t forget to use the conditioner. Never apply the conditioner on the scalp, always apply it to the hair shaft and rinse it thoroughly. Do not use styling products.
2) Drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet. Include fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.
3) Go for hot oil massage atleast once in a week and apply henna once in a month. If possible keep your hair short.
4) Do not use hair dryer or any other electric instrument.
5) Don’t let your hair get wet in the rains, rain water carries with itself pollutants from the air.
6) Identify your hair type and then treat accordingly. If you have dry hair i.e if the hair becomes greasy 5 to 6 days after washing then use shampoo formulated specially for dry hair and wash your hair once or twice in a week. If you have greasy hair i.e. if the hair becomes a day or two after washing then use a mild shampoo and rinse your hair with lemon juice mixed in water and wash your hair frequently. If you have normal hair i.e. it becomes greasy 3 to 4 days after washing then use a mild shampoo and a good conditioner.
