Makeup

Makeup is an art, though the techniques and finer aspects of makeup can be learned but it is not a skill which can be acquired. That’s one of the reason why the film industry addresses people from this field as makeup artist. Often people overdo makeup and look cakey. The problem is when they want to look 2 shades lighter, indians have a fixation for fair skin so everyone wants to look fair. This is the worst makeup blunder one can ever do, because the entire body is of a different colour and the face looks like a clay pot.

Makeup is not meant to make you look fair, it is meant to cover the flaws and highlight the best features. There is nothing more disastrous than badly done makeup. To get the right look always match the foundation and compact with your complexion, it should match perfectly to the T. Never highlight all the features, focus on one feature of your face which is the most attractive one and try to highlight it. For example if you have big, bright and attractive eyes work on highlighting this feature and let the other features have subtle makeup.

Similarly if you have perfect lips then use a lipstick which will accentuate your pout and keep the rest of your face pale. It is important to identify which feature is the most attractive one and accordingly work on it. If you find it difficult to identify then take suggestions from your make up artist, they will be able to guide you.

The make up artist should be a well trained one, you can check their credentials in different ways, firstly you can ask them for a trial run. They usually offer trials for brides, if trial seems a little difficult then you can take a look at their previous works. Make up artist will usually have pictures of models or brides with whom they have worked in the past. This will give you an idea about the efficiency of your makeup artist.
