Do not use foundation all over the face, though your skin tone will look even from a distance but a close look will reveal the unnatural part of the even toned skin. So for a natural look, dump your full face foundation ritual and just dab some translucent powder.

However, it is important to cover your eyes with either a foundation base or concealer to minimise the visibility of dark circles. But use, it sparingly and blend it thoroughly with your skin. Now apply a sparkling eye shadow for a romantic evening out, use feminine colours like pink or peach with loads of shimmer.

The shadow should always be applied in 3 shades, with the lightest one at the brow bone and the medium shade at the upper eyelid. The darker shade should be applied in the centre and blended well. Keep the eye liner thin, do something different from usual, though smoky eyes are sexy but they are not sensual and romantic.

Smoky eyes have a strong feel to them, they are not soft on the face. Go for a thin line of eyeliner on the upper lip. Use loads of mascara to pop up your eyes, mascara will open up your eyes and make your eyes look bigger.

Curl your lashes with an eye lash curler for those perfect celebrity style lashes. Finish your makeup with a soft pastel shade of lipstick, again forgo the lip liner and use either a glossy or creamy matte lipstick. Finally add some pink or peach blusher to your cheeks, use powder blusher and apply it with a dome shaped brush. For perfect application, smile and apply the blush at the highest point of your cheek.
