Makeup For Dusky Skin

Makeup for dusky skin is different than that for lighter skin tone. There are some colors that will not compliment this skin tone. So you need to be very careful while selecting a shade, it should not look loud or stand out awkwardly. Choose a subtle color palette for your eyeshadow and also keep the lipstick shade light. Woman with this kind of skin tone should use foundation that matches perfectly with their skin color. There are some do’s and don’ts shared herewith.

Do’s - Always use a foundation that matches perfectly with the skin tone. A liquid foundation should be preferred over cakey one. The compact too should be of the exact shade. The label should read dusky, else it will look patchy and uneven. The color of lipstick that will best suit for evening makeup would be bronze and coffee or earthen shades.

For the day time, you can use lighter shades like pink and rose. Peach does not go so well with dark skin tone and pink too should have a little mauve effect or it should be on the earthen side, the light baby pink shade may not be a good option. Use a lot of shimmer and shine, it compliments dark skin tone. Use colors like gold, copper, bronze and silver for eyeshadow. You can also try using highlights around the bridge of the nose and forehead, this will enhance the beauty of dark skin.

Don’ts - Dark lipstick shades like maroon, red, plum and deeper colours are a complete no no. Brown too should be light and have a tint of coffee in it. Dar shades will not blend with a dusky complexion, such colours may look too loud. Never use too much of deep pink, plum or peach blusher, instead go for a bronze shade. Avoid colours like, black, dark pink, dark peach for eye shadow, metallic colours will look better.
