Lipstick is such a wonderful creation of mankind, it can instantly pep up your mood and jazz up your look. Though lipsticks are available in a pallete of colours, it is upto you to choose the right colour which suits your complexion and the occasion. I have seen many woman do a blunder with their lipsticks, either the chosen colour is not right or the way they apply their lipstick is not right. Whatever be the reason such lipstick disasters are a horror to see, they look absolutely cheap and downmarket. We discuss some of the cardinal sins and how they can be avoided.

1) Lipstick on the teeth - This is the biggest blunder one can ever make, lipstick on the teeth is a sign of clumsiness and looks really tacky. We suggest that you don’t wear glossy liquid lipsticks if you are prone to this mistake. Also keep a check on your teeth regularly by carrying a small mirror.

2) Dark lip liner – Lip liner should be of the same shade as the lipstick but I have seen many women wearing a lip liner that is darker than the lipstick, some of them even wear a liner that is 2 shades darker. Ladies, your liner is not supposed to stand out, it is only meant to define the shape of your lips, not to stand out loud. Moreover as your lipstick starts fading your dark liner will remain in place thus making you appear like nerd with only the liner around your lips and no lipstick.

3) Application - Lipstick application is of utmost importance, some women apply lipstick only on the outer side of the lips, they completely ignore the centre of the lower lips. This again shows your carelessness and not to mention how cheap it looks. Lipstick should be applied on the entire lips and specially the centre since it tends to fade the maximum in that area due to eating and drinking.
