Lipstick Disaster
You might think that you can never go wrong with your lipstick shade but we all tend to make mistakes while choosing the right lipstick for the right occasion. Here we share some common makeup disasters and also advice you on disaster management. Lipstick application may sound trivial as compared to other complex makeup applications like the eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara but if lipstick is not worn properly it can make you look tacky. Lipstick on teeth, chapped lips, dark lip liners, excessive bling are some common disasters people commit.
It is important to moisturise your lips to get a smooth contour, fine lines on the lips leads to accumulation of lipstick in those cracks. For a smooth finish ensure that you moisturise your lips regularly. Dry lips tend to flake and look very unsightly. The shade of the lip liner should not be darker than the lipstick because once the lipstick gets lighter due to eating and drinking the lip liner will look 2 shades darker than the lipstick, always use a liner which is the exact shade of lipstick. It should neither be dark nor light.
Wearing brown lipstick on all the outfits is yet another blunder. Though brown or coffee is a safe colour and can be worn with most of the clothes but brown doesn’t go well with some shades like pink, peach, lavender etc. Such light colours need some lighter lipstick shades like baby pink, light peach or just nude shades will go well with light coloured clothes. Remember that dark colours are meant for evenings but at the same time the shade of your lipstick should blend with the colour of your outfit; it should not stand out awkwardly.
Also avoid wearing a lipstick of the exact shade of your outfit, it will look tacky. Wearing too much bling in the form of shimmer is also not advisable unless you have an outfit and complexion which will compliment it, else it will look over the top. Be careful while selecting and applying your lipstick, always outline your lips with a liner and fill the lips with a brush.
