Light Makeup
Makeup is of two types; light and heavy, the former one is best suited for humd weather and during the day while the later is ideal for an evening out and during winters. Heavy makeup should not be worn during hot summers since it might melt down. Heavy makeup requires layers of concealer, foundation and translucent powder. Wearing a thick coat of makeup during summer will not let your skin breathe, it will also clog the pores and can cause acne or boils.
Light makeup on the other hand does not require concealer and you can even skip the foundation. The ideal summer makeup is with tinted moisturiser or daily wear souffle, they are light and wont grease your face, painting your face with foundation is a common mistake.
The base is very important for light makeup, next is the colour of lipstick and eyeshadow. Summer shades are usually cool and light, select pastel colours in creamy finish. Dump the matte lipsticks and powder eyeshdows, instead use creamy lipstick and cream based eye shadows. They will not only blend easily but will stay longer during summer.
Eyemakeup should be simple and light, smokey eyes are not for this season. Choose a lighter colour palette for eyeshadow and do away with eyeliner and kajal. If at all you apply eyeliner, draw a thin line. While applying mascara, do not apply 2 to 3 coats, and apply it only on the ends of the lashes.
Don’t apply mascara from the roots, stay away from the lash line and prep up the ends. If you get your hands on dry mascara then don’t wait to buy it, this type of mascara is better than the liquid one. Choose a light shade of lipstick with a same shade of lip liner and top it up with some gloss and you are ready to shine under the sun.
