Light Makeup For A Day Party

Day makeup should be light as compared to evening makeup. Evenings are a time when you need dark and loud makeup since the light effects can change your look drastically.

Day makeup on the other hand need not be dark, it should be light with light colours and less or no shimmer. You can use shine during the day but shimmer or sparkle is not a good idea for day. Here are some tips for light day makeup and a comparison with evening makeup.

Foundation - This will remain the same whether you use a light or dark makeup since it is meant to cover skin imperfections. Foundation gives an even tone to the skin and forms the base of your makeup. Follow it up with normal translucent powder during the day and you can use some shimmer during night.

Lipstick – Choose lighter shades during the day and darker ones during the evening. Shades like pink, peach, light coffee, lavender, mauve, rose, etc can be used during the day. Dark lipstick shades like maroon, red, burgundy, chocolate brown, etc are perfect for the evenings.

Blusher - Blusher too has several shades like pink, rose, peach, bronze, brown and so on. Bronze is strictly meant for evenings, it will make you look old and a complete mismatch during the day. Pink and peach is the perfect shade for day.

Eyeshadow - Eyeshadow should be used in a palette of three colours. It is perfect for use during the day or evening, but the choice of colours is very important. Metallic colours like, bronze, gold, silver, and rust are good for evenings but you can use pastel colours for the day, please stay away from smokey eyes during the day.

Eyeliner - Use a thin liner during the day, just to define the eyes. Accentuating the eyes during day is not a good idea, heavy eye makeup is meant for the evenings. Keep these simple tips in mind and glow by the day and shine during the night.
