Light Day Makeup
Makeup during the day has to be different from night makeup. Day makeup should be light and look natural rather than glamorous, wrong makeup can make you appear artificial. There are certain makeup rules that should be followed if you do our makeup by yourself. Though makeup is not rocket science but you need to have some knowledge about it and you also need practice to perfect the art.
Like the adage goes ” Practice makes man perfect”, so even makeup needs practice to achieve precision. The thumb rule to day makeup is to steer clear from shimmer and gloss. Shimmer and shine is not for the day, it is for the night.
Having got the thumb rule right, let us look at some of the makeup techniques and the common mistakes people commit.
1) Foundation - This is the most important part of your makeup, it sets the base and gives an even tone to the skin. Not only is the method of application important but also the colour of your foundation plays a very vital role. The foundation should be an exact match of your skin tone, it should never ever be lighter than your natural skin colour. A shade darker is fine if you desire the dusky look. This is a common mistake women commit and the second sin they commit is they don’t blend the foundation properly. Blending the foundation is very important, else your foundation will crease.
2) Lipstick - Lipstick can be used with a lip liner but it is not necessary to use a liner. If you have thin lips or irregular edges around the lips then a lip liner is advisable. The colour of the lip liner is also important, it shouldn’t be darker than the lipstick. However, you can use a liner of your natural lip colour. To make your lipstick stay longer, apply a little foundation as a base and then apply lipstick.
3) Eyes - Wear your eyeliner thick if you have big eyes and vice versa. Also fill your eyes with some kajal or kohl pencil, else your eyes will look droopy. Ensure that your eyebrows are done well, ungroomed eyebrows are a complete put off and can mar your looks.
