Irritated Skin

Irritation on the skin disturbs the person a lot. One might feel a burning sensation on the skin due to irritation. The skin may get irritated due to various factors. The skin is exposed to various environmental factors such as sun and wind. Also it is exposed to the use of chemicals and cosmetics. These factors may be highly responsible for irritation on the skin. It is very important to protect the skin from these harmful elements so that there is no irritation on the skin.
In order to deal with skin irritation and to keep the skin glowing and healthy, one needs to follow the following measures.

Sunscreen lotion should be used on the skin on daily basis, so as to guard against bites and burns.
Heat rash can be prevented in summers by way of wearing clothes of loose fitting.
It is very important to keep the skin moisturized. Dry and dull skin may get much irritated as compared to well moisturized skin.
Make up products can also cause irritation on the skin. It is very important to test the make up products before using them on the skin. Expired make up products should be discarded.
Make up products enriched with alpha hydroxy acids may be irritating for sensitive skin. Therefore such make up products should be avoided if one has sensitive skin.
Skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema can also lead to skin irritation. Go for treatments of these skin diseases to deal with the problem of skin irritation.
Skin irritation can also occur due to exposure of the skin to chemicals and detergents. Use of gloves should be made when the skin is exposed to these irritating detergents.
Scratching of irritated skin should be avoided. Scratching may result into more itching and irritation of the skin. Also, the skin may become dry, scaly, reddish and flaky due to scratching. Cool compressors such as lacto calamine lotions should be used to deal with the itching on the skin.
Moisturizers should be used after taking a shower to provide healing to the dry and irritated skin.
