Indian hairstyles look very elegant with a traditional attire, they can also blend well with western outfits when modified. These hairstyles are often passed on like a tradition from the ancestors and have an ancient appeal to it. They look royal and delicate with simple fresh flower decorations.
Usually Indian woman prefer long hair since they have a misconception that long hair can be styled with a lot of variation whereas short hair has limited choices. This is not correct short hair can also be styled in different ways to give a varied look for example you can pin up short hair on one side, sweep it back with gel or simply iron it straight or curl it softly. Infact short hair that is cut properly will give you lot of room for experiment. Some of the most common Indian hairstyles are buns and braids.
Buns – Hair tied into a bun will remain in place for long hours, it doesn’t get messy or tangled. For tying a bun one would require medium or long hair, buns will not stay on short hair. The can be worn at all places like parties, wedding, movies, shopping etc. It can be worn high or low, for a more casual look wear a half bun at the back with the rest of your hair falling on your back or shoulder. Buns can also be worn to work, infact in hospitality industry buns are mandatory for the staff to get a neat look. Buns look tidy and can be decorated with fresh flowers or jewellery or fancy clips.
Braids - Braids aid faster hair growth, they too like buns look neat and prevent tangling of hair. Braids can be worn loosely for a casual look and a bit firmly to attract attention and to give definition to the face. You can either wear a single braid or a double braid. There are various intricate styles of wearing braids depending on the occasion.
