How To Use Hair Products
Hair products are a plenty and have a myriad of uses. Before you get your hands on any hair product, it is important to understand the way they should be used. We share a complete know how of hair products and their usage.
The most common hair products that are used for styling include, hair gel, hair mousse and hair spray. Before we give you a low down on all the hair products, it is good to know that excessive use of hair products can damage your hair and make them dull and lifeless. It is best to use these products sparingly.
Hair Gel – Hair gel is used for holding a style in place. Hair gels vary according to their strength, strong hold gel will hold your style for longer. Strong hold gel is thicker and can hold the longest of spikes. But remember your hair will become hard to touch and you may not be able to comb through your tresses. Hair gel is applied after achieving the desired look.
Milder versions of gel are also available, though they do not give a strong hold, they take care of fly away. If you just want a very light application of gel and don’t really want the gel to show up on your hair, you can mix it with a little water before applying. Take a small coin sized amount of gel in your palm and add some water to dilute the gel. Apply it on your hair and comb through for an even distribution.
Hair Mousse – Mousse is typically used before styling or blow drying your hair. It is used around the roots of the hair to add body and volume to thin or fine hair. It is good to use mousse in a spray form and the way you dispense it from the bottle also matters. Shake the bottle well and hold the nozzle upwards, now pump some mousse and work it through your mane. You hair is ready to be blow dried. Mousse can add a lot of volume, so it is not meant for thick or curly hair.
Hair Spray – This product should be used sparingly, it holds the hairstyle in place. Hold the spray bottle at least six inches away from your hair. Moreover, mist the spray lightly, do not pump too much of spray.
