Dandruff is a scalp disorder which is very annoying and frustrating for an individual. The appearance of white flakes of dandruff on the shoulders really puts an individual in an embarrassing situation. There are many kinds of shampoos and products available in the market these days that help in treating dandruff effectively.
However, these products contain chemicals which may be harmful for the hair and the scalp. Therefore, people look for natural remedies to deal with the problem of dandruff, so that there is no harsh impact on the scalp and the hair. Essential oils are considered to be very good for treating dandruff. Let us here discuss about some of the essential oils which are helpful in treating dandruff.
The essential oils that would be required for treating dandruff are tea tree oil, rosemary essential oil, peppermint essential oil, jojoba oil, and lavender essential oil.
Two drops of tea tree oil, rosemary essential oil, and peppermint essential oil are added to one cap of jojoba essential oil. Tea tree oil is enriched with anti fungal and anti bacterial properties; peppermint essential oil has great soothing elements, thus reducing itching in the scalp; rosemary oil helps in promoting hair growth; and jojoba oil helps in increasing the absorption power of the scalp.
The prepared treatment of essential oils is poured in a cup and massaged onto the scalp for around five to ten minutes with the help of fingertips. Massaging the scalp with the essential oils would help in reducing dandruff and stimulating circulation in scalp.
After allowing the treatment to deliver its effects overnight, the head is washed next day in the morning with the help of a gentle and mild shampoo. One can also add some drops of rosemary oil and tea tree oil to the shampoo for cleansing the scalp properly and for boosting the anti dandruff treatment.
The hair are then dried thoroughly. Some drops of rosemary oil and lavender oil are added to the scalp thereof and the hair are brushed.
Practicing this treatment twice or thrice in a week would help a great deal in getting rid of the dandruff from the scalp in a very short span of time.
