How to Oil Your Hair?

How to oil your hair?

Oil to hair is like water to plants. It is important to give your tresses a nourishing massage of your favorite oil. If you have dry hair, it is advisable to oil your hair twice a week.

If you have normal scalp, oil them once a week and for oily scalp, you can oil them a little less frequently. You can use any oil, depending on what suits your hair condition. Olive oil is one of the best among them.  It is also good to keep changing oils to give different types of vitamins to the hair. But avoid applying mineral oils.

If you thought that just applying too much of oil in the hair would do, you are surely mistaken. There are certain directions which if followed can transform your hair drastically from not so impressing to dramatically beautiful.

Oiling hair properly and regularly can also cure your scalp and hair problems like itchy scalp, dandruff, general dullness and lifelessness. It also promotes better hair growth.

Proper method of oiling your hair is as follows:

Take a little oil of your choice in a heating pan. You can also mix two or three types of oils. Heat the oil on a low flame. Take care to not burn it as oil heats very quickly. Pour the contents in a bowl. Dip a cotton ball in it and let it soak the oil. Make lots of divisions into your hair in different areas.

Pick the cotton ball and squeeze the cotton ball a little in the roots of your hair. When you have generously applied oil all over the hair and scalp, massage it gently into the hair with fingertips for 15 to 20 minutes. Avoid over application of the oil.

Dip a towel in half a bucket of hot water. Squeeze the towel back in the bucket. Cover your oiled head with the damp and hot towel and leave for 5 minutes. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times. This procedure will help the scalp absorb all the oil.

It is advisable to leave the oil in your hair for at least for 6 to 7 hours. If you do not like to sit with matted hair all day long, you can apply oil before sleeping and leave it overnight for best results.
