How To Get Rid of Blackheads

One of the major spots on the skin of an individual is the blackhead. Blackheads occur on the skin of an individual due to the excess production of oil on the skin due to over production of sebum through the sebaceous glands.

The excess oil is accumulated on the skin and clogs the pores of the skin, thus resulting into blackheads. Blackheads are a form of acne and occur in the form of black spots on the skin. People with combination and oily skin are more prone to be affected by the problem of blackheads.

In most of the cases, the presence of blackheads is seen in the T-Zone area of the skin. There are many ways of getting rid of the problem of blackheads.

Let us here discuss about some of the ways of getting rid of blackheads.

The face should be cleaned thoroughly with the help of good cleanser that has been specifically made for skin that is oily in nature. It is recommended to choose a cleanser with salicylic acid as one of the essential ingredients. An astringent should be applied thereafter. This would help in reducing the oiliness of the skin.

One can also mix rose water of little amount in the astringent, if one finds it too harsh. In the third and the last step, one should apply a medicated gel or cream of good quality, which is enriched with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or resorcinol. This would help in stripping off the blackheads and soaking the excess oil. If, in case, the skin gets dry due to the application of gel, one can apply moisturizer (oil free) on the skin after around ten to fifteen minutes of the application of the gel.

The area that is affected by the blackheads should be exfoliated at least thrice a week with the help of scrubs and facial exfoliators.

Creams that are enriched with Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids should be used on the skin. This would help to remove all the dead cells of the skin and treat blackheads.

The hair should be kept away from the face as the greasiness in the hair can give rise to skin infection and blackheads.
