How To Cure Itching
Itchy skin can be a major trouble, specially at work. Scratching yourself to glory is the last thing you can think of doing at work, it reflects poorly on your personal hygiene. Our skin becomes more sensitive during summer due to the heat and humidity, this season causes various skin diseases and sometimes it is mere perspiration that can cause the skin to itch. Sweating usually harbors bacteria which lead to various skin infections. It is therefore important to keep the skin clean and for doing so, you need to bathe twice during summer.
Some home remedies can help you control itching:
1) Take a bath in one can of evaporated milk; you can add other combinations such as oatmeal, etc. The milk works well to soothe the itching.
2) Apply aloe vera, cod liver oil, lemon juice, vitamin E oil or wheatgerm oil to the itchy area.
3) Cornstarch helps relieve itching, you can pour some in your bath water or dust it onto your body.
4) Scrub the affected area lightly with a pumice stone. Then wash with soap, apply little alcohol and dab a thick layer of vaseline over it. This will provide relief from itching.
5) Add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to your bath water to relieve itching. Apply cold compress to the itchy areas, it is thought to bring relief from itching.
6) Apply the peel of banana, it acts as an emollient and not only soothes itching but also reduces swelling.
7) Use a cold compress or rub ice on the affected area, cooling the skin also relieves itching.
Maintain good hygiene levels, add few drops of antiseptic liquid in your bath water everyday. You can also add neem leaves to your bath water.
