How To Cover Dark Circles

Dark circles can be a nuisance and very difficult to camouflage. They are caused due to the fine capillaries that break underneath the skin. What causes the break down or clotting of the capillaries underneath is important to understand. Firstly, I would like to mention that the skin under the eyes is very thin and delicate. Hence, even a small spot of blood will make the skin look darker on the surface. The capillaries that carry blood to the surrounding eye area tend to break due to various reasons like, lack of sleep, fatigue, stress on eyes, tension, over exertion and so on.

These are some of the main causes of dark circles under the eyes. Treating them with mere application of creams is not a solution, you have to change your lifestyle also. Few changes in your sleeping habits, efforts to reduce tension and stress can help a great deal in curing dark circles. However, if you have already been affected by it, you can camouflage the dark circles with makeup. We tell you how to cover them up.

Firstly, you would require some makeup stuff like concealer, foundation, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara and some shimmer. Apply concealer over the entire eye area, remember that the shade of the concealer should be lighter than the colour of your skin. Next, apply foundation in small dots and blend it well.

Note, the colour of foundation should match perfectly with the colour of your skin. Use a sponge if required to blend the foundation, else you can use your fingers. Now, apply a coat of white eyeshadow over the upper eye lid, this will make for a perfect base for the eyeshadow. Apply eye shadow and follow it up with eyeliner and mascara. And your dark circles are gone.

However, you should also apply makeup on the entire face. I know some people who do not apply makeup on their face but they pep up their eyes, this is the biggest makeup blunder.
