How to Care for Hair After Coloring

Women with colored hair should make sure to keep their hair well moisturized. Make sure to use shampoos and conditioners that are specifically made for color treated hair. Such shampoos and conditioners are enriched with adequate moisture content to moisturize the colored hair.

There are many kinds of hair masks available in the market these days which help in improving the health and the vitality of the colored hair. The hair mask is applied on the hair and allowed to stay for around fifteen minutes. Thereafter, the hair are washed to get soft, smooth and shiny hair. It is highly recommended to apply hair mask at least once in a week for maintaining the moisture and color in the hair.

Exposure of the colored hair to the sun may strip off the color from the hair. Therefore, it is advised to use hair care products enriched with sunscreen, so as to prevent the hair damage due to exposure to sun. Also wear a hat while going out in the sun, so that the hair are covered properly.

Make sure to get your hair trimmed at least once in two months, so that formation of split ends in the hair is prevented and the health of the colored hair is maintained.

With time, the hair at the roots will grow, thus requiring touch ups. Go for touch ups in the hair from time to time to maintain the look of the colored hair.
