How To Apply Light Makeup
Makeup should be worn differently for different occasions. It changes with season and the time of the day, so your morning makeup should be light, while your evening makeup can be heavy. Similarly, makeup during winters can be heavy but summer calls for light and simple makeup with pastel shades. The bright and powerful sun rays will highlight all your skin flaws inspite of a layer of makeup. The first rule to light makeup is to skip the concealer, this will make your makeup heavy.
Use foundation and a translucent powder for the base. If you want your base to be lighter, you can mix some water in the foundation, this will cover minor imperfections of the skin. Having achieved the base right, half of your job is done. Blend the foundation well so that it merges with your skin colour. Ensure that it is of the exact shade of your skin.
Next, use light pastel colours for lipstick, shadow and blusher. Do not use dark colours, natural pinks, nudes, earthy tones are perfect to get that soft look. Dramatic eyes are a complete no no when you want light makeup. Do not highlight your eyes, use a thin line of eyeliner and fill your eyes with kajal or kohl pencil.
Skip the mascara, or if required, just apply it at the tips of your lashes. Do not apply it on the complete lash, this will make your eyes look darker and we are looking at subtlety. Too much is not good. Use light shades of eyeshadows like; baby pink, peach, light coffee brown and blend it well. As for your lipstick, use a light shade without a lip liner and perk it up with some gloss in the same shade. Follow these simple tips and see heads turn.
