How Important Is Foot Care

Foot care is very essential but often an ignored part of skin care. People usually care for the skin of their face and hands since these are the most visible parts of our body. But what they don’t realize is that feet is also an important part and no shoes or sandal will look good on unsightly and dirty feet. Moreover, our feet needs more attention than the face and hands, since they are constantly under torture.

When we wait stand for long hours or travel in a crowded train or walk a long distance, it is our feet that tolerate all the pain and trouble. Isn’t it fair to pamper them a bit.

Some of us add more agony to it by wearing high heels. And not to mention the weight of our body that falls on our feet. They are bound to loose life and look dull and dehydrated. The skin of our feet is more dry as compared to any other part of the body.

There are few things that you can do to make your feet happy.

Happy Feet Tip # 1 - Massage your feet with an emollient cream twice in a day, especially in the night. Look for a foot cream that has shea butter, vitamin e content or some other emollient like coconut oil. These are highly soothing ingredients and can work wonders for your skin. However, never buy anything that has petroleum jelly. It does no good to your feet since it only forms a layer and wont get absorbed in the skin.

Happy Feet Tip # 2 – Go for regular pedicure, it will take care of the dead skin cells, in-growth of nails, rough cuticles and dirt in the nails and heels. Pedicure revitalizes the feet and revives the skin by removing the dead skin cells. It is a must, especially during monsoon.

Happy Feet Tip # 3 – Do not miss an opportunity to massage your feet with coconut oil, do this once in a week and you will notice amazing results. Pure coconut oil that is not scented can be absorbed by the skin easily. It has an ability to penetrate upto 80% and is the best massage oil for your feet.
